Less Than 2 Weeks!

2 Weeks!

Do you know that it is less than 2 weeks to the Chicago Marathon?

This man will be running it!

I ran 38.62 miles last week. I ran 13.16 miles on Saturday morning. Never has a half-marathon distance been so easy for me to run. I guess that there is a real purpose to all of the training that I have been doing.

I did try a small size Milky Way bar at the halfway point rather than a sawdust based 'energy' bar. It was a great deal more palatable, went down easy and didn't cause any distress. I do believe that I will use those on the marathon run.

I am about to head out on a 5 mile run. 3 more of those, 1 @ 4 mile run, 2 @ 3 mile runs, an 8 mile run next weekend and a 2 mile run in Chicago (the day before the event). I am ready!

After today, I will have run 180 miles in September and 1250 miles in 2008.

Finally...

Wood you ride this bike?

Taper well and good luck. All I can think of is listening to some Chicago blues, while eating milky ways and deep dish pizza. Dayyyummm.

I believe the marathon is in 2 weeks! You have been training hard. Glad the Milky Ways worked out for you. I tried them again on my 13 this weekend and I am sold. No problems and they are much easier to get down.

you know I am so with you! You have come so far with your running I am totally impressed with you. And as for the Milky ways - I've been trying tasty granola bars (ie laden with good ole sugar and sweet stuff) rather than pukesome gus and I've got to tell you the former is far more pleasant than the latter. If you get on with the Milky Ways then they are the future. Just watch meltage...

Milky Way bar, why not? Even if it melts, it will probably be similar in texture and taste to a chocolate gel :-)

Enjoy the rest of your taper. The hardest part of marathoning is the training, IMO, and you've done it!

I wouldn't ride that bike!

Chocolate vs. energy bars -- no contest!

I am so so so excited for you, my friend!

Cute bike.

Wasn't paying attention... thought the Chicago was this coming weekend... when we are doing Twin Cities races.

I've read that adequate sleep is the best training for the last week before a marathon.. and don't worry if you don't get a full night's sleep the night before the race. It's normal to be a little bit excited!
Wishing you good weather and a fun time.

I WOOD ride that bike! Just not very fast or far, LOL...I do like at least a little suspension to cushion the ride.

Heard your audio comment on a recent 2G1B podcast, very cool. Good luck in Chicago!!!!!!!!!
