How Far Have I Run?

I never thought that I would have come as far as I have with my running. It has been an amazing journey. I want to thank all of you that have encouraged me along the way. Don't think you're done, though. I still need all of the encouragement I can get!

Running -
So… What have I accomplished so far in 2009? Not as much as I wanted to, but I have been running. So far, it has been treadmill running. I’m used to it and it is easily accomplished. I'll be out more and more as the weather clears in April.

I seem obsessed on my 10K run coming up on May 9th. I know that I have been ignoring the half-marathon coming up on May 17th. I really need to start increasing miles now so I will be able to run it!

This is my running statistics chart for 2009.

I still have my cough. I keep telling myself to go back to the Doctor. I believe it is related to the blood pressure medicine that I am taking. If I could clear that up I could breathe a lot easier and get more accomplished.

The Recent Denver Snow Storm –
Well, you’ve heard about it. An almost blizzard! The, all of a sudden, it tapered off and just slowed way down.

Other stuff –
I am still going jeeping on a regular basis. After all, you need to do something (fun) on your day of rest.

Here are some videos if you are interested –

Running a steep hill covered with snow. Will he make it in this Bronco?

Now, let’s try it in the Mighty YJ!

(oh well, you can’t have everything!)

What happens if get up there and then get stuck?

My b/p medicine causes me a dry rasping cough when I run which makes me want to clear my throat and must drive runners around me crazy as I hack and gasp and gag and cough and ahem-urrrrr! Never can clear it though. I guess the alternative is poppin' a cork though.

Way to go Charlie, glad to hear your training is going well. I can't believe all that snow and I'm complaining LOL, I have to admit, it's been real nice not having the snow or cold tempatures around anymore.

Look at that improvement!! Very nice, Charlie. And the incline actually translates to even faster speeds on flat ground if you look up some of the treadmill conversions that are available online.

Keep working it and hope you are rid of the cough soon!

Oh, I've not seen snow like that in 8 years (since I moved to the southwest)..and I'm happy to say that I don't miss it! Looks like you all have so much fun with your jeeps, regardless of the season! I had no idea!

Congrats on your running!

Hi Charlie,

Sad, really sad. All that I had were short walks - those breathable, light walks even! How are you? I'm back to mile one! :( not even a miler i think. This sucks!

Look at your mileage!! Can you train me to hop back on a 5k -10k? rofl. Seriously!

Great adventure youve got there!
